Terms of Awards Nominations
Each nomination must be submitted with supporting material that meets the Awards criteria. 
 
Compulsory: 
  • A clear overview (500 words max) responding to the award criteria.
  • Evidence of peer / industry recognition, and any other materials needed to provide evidence that the criteria of the Award category are met by the nomination.
Optional: Supporting material such as prior award wins, financials, press clippings, referees, references, letters of endorsement etc may be provided to the HACCI office via email (info@hacci.com.au) to support the nominee’s case. 

All nominations and supporting material are kept strictly confidential and are disclosed to the HACCI Office Awards Committee only. 


Key dates
  • Submissions open:  Friday 6 June 2025
  • Submissions close: Monday 15 September 2025 
  • Winners notified: Monday 6 - Friday 10 October 2025
  • Presentation of winners: Friday 14 November 2025 at the HACCI Excellence Awards Gala Ball at the Plaza Ballroom, in Melbourne (winners are required to attend in person to accept their award.)

Judging Committee and process

The judging committee (the Committee) will comprise a panel of judges comprised of HACCI Board members and at least two (2) independent judges. 
 
Applications will be judged on the materials submitted with their nomination.
 
A nominee may nominate themselves or be nominated by someone else.
 
If the Committee deems it appropriate, a nominee may be considered for an Award in a category other than that for which a nomination was made. 
 
A member of the Committee will declare any conflict of interests and will not vote or participate in deliberations regarding a nominee they have a personal or professional relationship with or in respect of whose nomination they have been lobbied by a third party.  
 
A nominee may be entered in more than one category however can only win in one category.
 
The Committee may reach out to a nominator requesting further information if required. 
 
The Committee’s decisions are final and not negotiable.
 
Lobbying of Board members or HACCI stakeholders could lead to disqualification of a nominee. 

Each winner of a HACCI Excellence Award must attend the Awards ceremony in Melbourne on 14 November 2025 to accept the Award. Exceptions to physical attendance by the Award recipient may be made at the discretion of the Awards Committee under special circumstances only.
🏆 Bank of Sydney Business Award
Open to all businesses with a Hellenic Australian connection that meets the below criteria:

  • Demonstrated excellence in their field. 
  • A well-known brand, recognised as a leader within its industry by its peers, relevant industry association, customers, or other independent body. 
  • Actively engaging in sustainable and meaningful practices that seek to reduce the environmental impact of the business. 
  • Demonstrates best practice standards of corporate governance. 
  • Made significant contributions to their industry through the introduction or improvement of an idea, method, technology, process or application.

🏆 Professional Services Award
Open to all Hellenic Australians from the professional services or academic sector that meet one or more of the below criteria:

• Demonstrated excellence and leadership in their field.

• Made contribution to the learning / thought leadership within their profession.

• Recognised or awarded in their field by their peers or industry or customers or other independent body.

• Outstanding involvement in entrepreneurship.

🏆 Woman of Influence Award 
Open to all Hellenic Australian women that can meet one or more of the below criteria:

• Demonstrated excellence in their field.

• Committed to increasing the visibility of women’s leadership in Australia and throughout the diaspora.

• Encouraging other women in her industry and championing change in her workplace, her community or among her peers.

• Uses her platform, skills, position and ability to help change the status quo to a more equal, more diverse, and vibrant society.

• Makes outstanding contributions to innovation in her industry.

🏆 Innovation Award
Open to all Hellenic Australian businesses or individuals or leaders that can meet one or more of the below criteria:

• Demonstrated excellence in innovation. 

• Made significant contributions to their industry through the introduction or improvement of an idea, method, technology, process or application. 

• Developed effective solutions to challenging social and/or environmental issues in support of social and/or environmental progress. 

• Outstanding involvement in entrepreneurship.

🏆 Community Service Award 
Open to all Hellenic Australians that can meet one or more of the below criteria:

• Demonstrated excellence in the community sector. 

• Contributed significantly to the community through their time, actions, talents and dedication and passion to making a difference.

• Acknowledged for their leadership in the community sector.

• A role model for compassion, service and for helping others. 

• Mentor of future generations to community work.

🏆 Sport Award 
Open to all Hellenic Australians that can meet one or more of the below criteria:

• Demonstrated excellence in sports. 

• Made an outstanding achievement in a sport and/or significant contribution to sport in Australia and/or internationally. 

• Earned the respect and recognition of peers, sporting bodies and the public. 

• Acknowledged as a leader in their sport / leading contributor to sport. 

• Made a positive impact on sport and the Hellenic Australian / international Community.

🏆 Chris Saristavros Young Achievers Award 
Open to all Hellenic Australians that are between 18 and 35 years of age and can meet one or more of the below criteria:

• Demonstrated excellence in their field. 

• Demonstrated outstanding achievement in their field. 

• Acknowledged for their contributions to and achievements in their field of endeavour.

• Showcased clear aspirations, drive and commitment to succeed in their chosen field.

• Serve as a role model to others.

🏆 Spiro Stamoulis Lifetime Achievement Award 
Open to all Hellenic Australians that can meet one or more of the below criteria:

• Demonstrated excellence in their field. 

• Made a significant impact on the Hellenic Australian Community of Diaspora throughout their private and professional life. 

• Widely acknowledged as having reached a pinnacle of their profession or industry. 

• Demonstrated significant contribution to the promotion of Hellenism or Hellenic values to the broader community over their lifetime.
